John's claim to fame and other stuff
I discovered at Monday's practice that John has the first sound credit ever to appear on Channel 4 as he did the sound for the first episode of Countdown...AND...he helped record the music for it!...how cool is that!. My only claim to fame is trying to buy a video recorder off Brian Clough...but that's another story.
I thought I should also share with you Paul and Doug's running battle over BMWs. Paul has just ordered a new one which will arrive in a couple of months. Doug has taken the opportunity to make Paul aware that all BMW drivers are knobheads (in his considered opinion). Paul was equally keen to point out that only last week a BMW passed him with the persoonalised number plate of DOUG. One All I'd say. By the way Doug drives a soft-top Volvo.
And finally my very expensive Variax 700 has died on me and needs to go for repair (which it will when I can afford it). So my 25 year old pink Pasiley Telecaster has been dusted off and is back in service. A 21st present from my parents, she still sounds lovely. I must remember not to neglect her in future....Gary
